Get a connection first, to enjoy their good servic

I will try not to rant here and give a logical review.


I have heard a lot about Beam Telecom’s broadband service. My friends who were using it reported pretty good internet speeds at very reasonable price. I decided its time for me to get a connection for myself.


I called the contact number they had on their website and requested for a new connection. The representative came and took the cheque from me for 5500. That is for 6 months. He promised me that the connection will be set up in 10 days. He also gave me a "commitment date", which is exactly 10 days from the date on which I gave the cheque. By the way, the cheque got deposited the very next day.


Now its been more than 3 weeks and I have not even heard from then, let alone the connection. From the so called commitment date onwards, I have been calling them every day. I get a standard response from them "We are sorry for the inconvenience sir, I have raised a complaint for this.


Concern department will contact you". All I have been asking them is to have their representative / installation team to contact me and update me on the status. By the way, the customer care representative has no clue about why the connection is not given, even after the 5th call, the next guy would tell me the same thing - "Did you not get any call sir? I dont know why the connection is delayed". Here are the ticket numbers that I raised with them - 2162908, 2206772, 2212168, 2217798, 2217815. You would never get to talk to any of the field representatives (who sold you the connection / who is supposed to do installation / area superviser / technician). The answer is always "Concern department will give you a call back", which never happens in reality.


Now, wondering if this is how they treat new customers, how is the service to the existing customers, I enquired the friends who were using it already. Their comment is "It works as long as it works. While it works, it is the best. When it breaks, the experience is nothing short of horrible. The service is pathetic."


Now, I have applied for the refund of the money that I paid.
