Taking the beam internet connection is at your risk .There has been couple of short circuit cases in customer residence who are using BEAM internet.All the devices(PC, Router) which ever connected through BEAM internet cable has got damaged and I my self has experienced on 30-May and incurred losses of INR 2000+.At 12 midnight on 29-May we had short circuit in couple of flats in our apartment and I was prompt enough to switch off the main as soon as I saw fumes coming out of my netgear wireless router and desktop.
If I would have been in deep sleep, not sure what would have happened to my AC and TV which were running.There are few more such customers who are the victims and incurred losses in my apartment and when I took my PC and router to get it repaired, the first question the service centre people asked is "Are you using BEAM Internet connection".Other residents in your apartment who are using other service providers internet didn’t had this issue.Only beam customer has this.After ACT group has taken over BEAM, the customer service is pathetic and call waiting time is minimum 4-5 mins.
My account number is 447047.I sent my complaint thru their portal and posing the question on compensating the losses which incurred.No response till now.Finally I was able to I reach out the ACT group customer care after 5 mins on 2-Jun to raise a request for disconnection, so that I can save of rest my home appliances from short circuit.It is still a puzzle, can electricity pass thru internet cables.
