BECKER is the story of Dr. Becker, an individual who personifies the popular image of a New Yorker... pessimistic, dont-take-no-crap-from-anyone attitude and an endless supply of verbal comebacks.
And its funny as hell!
I guess I see Becker as your typical clam... tough on the outside, soft on the inside. Its what makes his friends survive his relentless moaning and groaning about life in general, and his life in particular! Well, which one of us doesnt wish we could go around mouthing off at everybody... :-)
Perfectly portrayed by Ted Danson (of Cheers fame), Becker shares the small screen with a few strong supporting characters; his clinic receptionist & assistant, the vivacious young owner of a diner (theres a storm brewing between her and Becker!), the blind owner of a magazine stall and one Bob (dunno what hes doing there, just brings the humour down a notch... towards slapstick).
All in all, I think its a great way to spend 30 mins of your TV time. At least give it a shot... you might be pleasantly surprised!
