Delicious delectable: These are ingredients for an impressive and successful PARTY………
PLANNING:
Invite the guests with proper planning schedule. Give away invitations cards or telephone them personally mentioning occasion, date, time, venue of a Party.
In planning a party of any size, it is a good idea to use a particular theme and relate to invitations, decorations, refreshments and game to this theme.
PARTY INVITATION IDEAS:
If planning written invites then try to make them fun and different(use your creative personality) but don’t forget to mention basics like-occasion, hours, date and day, venue, theme of party. Also let your guests know what kind of attire is for party.
If you are anticipating semi-formal gathering let them know.
ATTITUDE:
If you are a host? Wear attitude of generosity, smile and charm.
Remember this is your party and these people are your guests.
Welcome the guests with a warm smile and guide them to party-area. Don’t disappear for a tête-à-tête with a special guest or join buddies but be available and friendly to all.
RHYTHM:
I don’t even imagine a party without MUSIC. Let music be ultimate .It should be mixture of western pop to salsa to mambo to waltz to any Hindi pop music-bhangra, hindi songs…consider musical preferences of your guests here.
Role of DJ can add enigmatic charm to your party. If you are using a jukebox for music, play music from 70’s to 90’s, as someone will like slower waltzes and someone will prefer classic rock.
Variety of music is tagline.
TAKE CHARGE:
How successful your party is has a lot to do with…YOU, as a
Host. Good host makes mood of party fun, enjoyable and memorable.
You can create party atmosphere with right attitude, music, and decorations.
A friendly and relaxed atmosphere is MUST for a fun party where guests mingle and communicate with others .
Party is for Sharing, joy, socializing so share a laugh.
Remember a good host or hostess has more to give than just food and drinks.
PARTY HORS D’OEUVRES:
FOODS:
Advance food preparation is a must with only garnishes and minor preparation to wait until serving time. Appetizers and soups are served on the charger plates and then removed before the main course.
PET FUNDA: Do not allow your pet to eat from the table…no matter how good his manners are.
LIQUOR:
If your guests are expected to bring their own booze, let them know in the invitation.
Lemons, oranges should be on list also. Consider making two punch bowls one with booze and another one with juices or cold drinks or cocktails.
Do not encourage excessive drinking. Keep safety of your guests in mind.
PARKING:
Try to make provision of parking in advance. Ask your neighbors about parking options or warn them that guests will be parking on the street.
It will save your neighbors from inconvenience and chaos.
SEATING ARRANGEMENTS:
Try to make it more spacious for standing, roaming, eating. Create enough space for people to mingle.
Relax now! Enjoy laughter and food with friends.
TIPS:
# Don’t forget to move that(rare) costly carpet to a safe place until the party is over. As you may want to remove extremely valuables items…but not all as this is the best time to show them off.
# A scented freshener in the bathroom is a nice idea. Leave an extra roll of toilet tissue in easy view.
# Consider unplugging or removing your television if it’s located in the party area. Try to resist tempting idea to watch your favorite Soap opera, channel or TV will kill your party.
PETS:
Keep pets locked up. If kitty is friendly cat and Muncho is friendly dog… then don’t give them opportunity to wander here and there in a party. Also, you never know when your Muncho becomes excited and bite someone accidentally…keep guest safety in your mind.
Though you can use Muncho for unwanted guests…
#FRIENDLY GOODBYE.
Memory-plus for guests:
A Is it fashionable to show up late to a Party?
A Dont always assume that your host expects you to show up late to a party. The general rule of thumb is that if the invitation says to arrive by 8 p.m., plan to arrive within half the hour, unless specified on the invitation that its an open house.
YES YOU ARE A GOOD HOST THEN!
Good luck on your party!
