I shall presume that if you are reading this piece with that little spark in your eyes, you belong the category for who
spends countless hours in the canteen mouthing choiciest of
adjectives to the ’’frontbenchers’’ and hence class toppers..
I do agree with whatever the purists might tell about regularity, punctuality, discipline and all that stuff. Agreed but what to do of the compulsive backbenchers.
So we settle with the a couple of facts that you are one whom the teacher always hates and still you want to do well
(wake up!! who doesn’t).
To tell you that I think I’m pretty qualified because I have seen everything, jumping and hopping from being a class bottomer to a topper and back and forth again and again(and still doing it).And after so much of workout I can tell only one thing with surity that I’m not a traditionalist and definitely never a front bencher.
Networking is Important.
However you might hate this, you have to cuddle up with one of those power -5 creatures coz regular class notes do matter.Or the option is you can jot down a few major points while still enjoying the bliss of back bench.
Stay One Step Ahead...Always...
Unleash your force, beat up the ’’ghissu’’ in his own game. Imagine the thrill when everyone is struggling with a tough topic, you enjoying coz you would have already done it(properly).And the night before the exams you enjoying a cool movie again because advance preparations is perhaps the most lethal weapon you can have to stick your tongue out.
Originality Helps.
Who says if everyone uses the tried and tested route you should follow. Find out what suits your style, whether its the way you make notes, the way you practice out the questions, your study hours, the ambience of your study room and all such stuff. Spice up the things according to your own taste, in the end you might realise that this was all that was needed to spark that elusive interest.
Mugging is GOD’s greatest gift.
People say its bad.To hell. Never ever underestimate its power, it provides a clean solution to lots of problems. Never mind if you are 100% sure you won’t retain
word a minute after the exam, make sure it stays for those 3 hours. Use all the available tools for doing it. Once I recorded an entire chapter in my voice and used to listen it at bedtime.

One word of caution while all this sounds good, as I said, make sure you are comfortable with it. And feel proud of yourself coz I strongly believe for doing well through this route, a high degree of cockiness is required. Else don’t come blaming me.
