Study, Think and Memorise (STM)

The STM technique I am suggesting is my own, tried and tested in my case. It has not been patented, although I think, it should be.

Study

The starting point is to study, and study carefully the lessons, to be taught in the class and already taught in the class. A suitable time for study is very important. I have always found the early morning to be the most suitable time for study, but for another person, that may be different. So also is the place of study. It should be a quiet place, well ventilated. Always you must have a note book and a ball pen with you so that you can take notes of the important things. Some students underline the important lines in the pages of the book itself, but I do not want to disfigure my books. Read and re-read the passage/s till you understand the meaning. If there are any exercises to be done after a lesson, those should be solved. If any exercise is difficult take the help of your teacher.

Think

Studying without thinking is like taking food without chewing the same. Unchewed food is difficult to be digested. Similarly if you study anything without thinking, it is not absorbed and internalised. Therefore , thinking is most important. It has another important role. Thinking motivates you and leads you to success. If you think that you are going to be successful, you will be. It is a slow and gradual process. Many psychologists suggest this tip to their clients.

Memorise

Without memorising what you study is a futile exercise. But this is not cramming. There are well tested methods of memorising. I had taken a course in Pelmanism to train my mental faculties, and I had success in abundance. I think the Pelmanism Course is no longer available in India. To develop a sharp memory , there are other techniques also. Yoga is one of them.

So I have given the STM technique to you. There is no copyright. Do sell it, but don’t oversell it. Best of Luck !
