A must watch for all the Bengali people.

This is yet another emotionally spine chilling movie well crafted by Shiboprasad Mukhopadhay and Nandita Ray starring none other than the stalwarts of Bengali cinema Soumitra Chatterjee, Swatilekha Sengupta in lead roles, the film also starsRituparna Sengupta, Aparajita Auddy, Monami Ghosh, Indrani Dutta, Sohini Sengupta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Anindya Chatterjee, Barun Chanda, Sohag Sen, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee and Shankar Chakrabortyin pivotal roles. Biswanath Mazumdar ( Soumitra Chatterjee) shocks his son and daughter-in-law ( Shankar Chakraborty and Indrani Dutta) , three daughters ( Rituparna Sengupta, Aparajita Auddy and Monami Ghosh) and their husbands ( Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee and Anindya Chatterjee) by announcing his decision to divorce his wife, Aarti ( Swatilekha Sengupta) after 49 years of marriage.

The rest of the story follows an emotional re-discovery of the institution of marriage. This is really an emotionally nurturing movie about the basic  husband and wife relationship in the homes of West Bengal where the husband feels he is not being understood by her wife, he isn’t the person that his wife loves. It is just the family, the home, the work, the care, the routine that she loves and not specifically him. On the other hand the wife lovingly and emotionally says her home her family her life her happiness starts from him. The words really shoots you like an arrow into your heart. The wife here Swatilekha gets her husband rid of her for the sake of his happiness ad moves to a different house. But months later the husband Soumitra feels absolutely terrified by her absence in his life so turns back to her wife one day begging for her love, her presence, her care. The ending is pretty sobby( tears everywhere) where Swatilekha says she has grown quite independent as he wanted her to be. She does all the official work  by herself. She loves been independent but misses him too much. Then they reunite and renew their vows again. All’s well that ends well.
