This movie to an avid football follower might seem boring because there is nothing about football and nothing about Beckham. It’s a story of a Punjabi girl in London who pursues her dream of playing professional football against the wishes and desires of her orthodox parents. Against all odds she manages to carve her way out without hurting anyone, without breaking any rules, just by bending them and without jeopardizing any relationship.
This movie isnt a humorous movie rather it wasnt meant to be one, but the incidents portrayed in this movie shows and teaches a lot about life. It teaches how we can achieve our goals and aims when we find people especially our elders against us. Our elders, who spend their whole lives taking care of us, should not be deprived from their children going for their (parents) wishes. Children can do what they want not necessarily by going against their parents wishes. They can convince their parents and get to what they have aimed.
And for those who do not want to go into the depth of life, it s just a nice time pass movie. The tinge of Indian ness adds to the light moments portrayed in this film. All I can say its a must see movie especially for girls who are career oriented.
