I had been looking for a good Digital Camera for quite sometime but found most of the Top Brands such as Panasonic and Sony unaffordable. While I was on a holiday in Dubai a friend suggested trying the BenQ range of Digital Cameras and after going through the various features and aesthetics in terms of sleekness I decided to buy the BenQ DC 3410.
Besides, the price factor this Camera offered me almost all the features that a Top Brand was offering and maybe more. What I really like about the Camera is that it is extremely user friendly and the menu options are very functional and very easy to understand and use.
The Camera has 2 Mega-pixel resolutions CCD with 4X digital zoom. The Camera has a 1.5 Colour TFT LCD.
The Camera has four modes:
The length of your Audio and Video clips is limited only by the amount of storage memory available.
This Camera comes with a built in rechargeable lithium-ion battery which gives an extra long-lasting power and all that one has to do to charge the battery is to connect the adaptor to the Camera.
The Camera comes with 8MB SD Card but I decided to enhance this by going in for a 256MB SD Card. The Camera is also equipped with 16MB of built in flash memory -images are stored in the internal memory if an SD Card is not inserted.
The Camera also has QLink image management software - by pressing the convenient QLink hotkey right on the camera when connected to a PC, you can quickly open the QLink application for downloading photos or performing other tasks without the need for complicated steps.
Features of the Camera are:
Supports three different snapshot modes:
Single Shot Mode
Self Timer Mode ? record a single still image ten seconds after the shutter
button is pressed.
- Burst Mode ? records three still images in quick succession at 1600 x 1200
immediately after the shutter button is pressed.
Supports four different Image Resolutions:
2048 x 1536 pixels
1600 x 1200 pixels
1280 x 960 pixels-
640 x 480 pixels
Option of Fine and Normal Image Quality. But fewer photos are stored in memory if one uses the Fine Setting.
Four built in photo effect modes: Auto; Portrait; Scene; Black and White
There are five white balance settings to choose from:
Auto
Daylight
Cloudy
Fluorescent
Tungsten light
Date Imprint Feature with option of switching it on or off.
Four Flash settings: Auto; Red Eye; On; Off
Zoom: One can zoom from 1.0x to 4.0x in steps of 0.2x.
One can Review and Delete Photos in the Playback mode.
Locking Files ? this feature makes sure that certain photos, movie clips or audio clips are not accidentally deleted.
Dimensions 98 x 58 x 27 mm (3.86x 2.28x 1.06)
Weight 135 g
The Accessories provided are: Power adapter, Hand strap. USB cable, Audio/Video cable, DC3410 Software CD-ROM and the Users manual.
The Camera is too good to be true for the price that I paid ? the only drawback is that it comes without a carry case. However, on requesting BenQ they provided me with a carry case at no extra cost.
I have been using the Camera for about six months and the snapshot quality is fantastic. I also find the Dictaphone Function very useful and the Audio quality is superb.
