BenQ M560G GSM - will be a good buy

Hi Everybody, I just had my hands on experience on the BenQ M560G GSM phone and would like to share my views on here.

BenQ is making its presence in the Indian market and is becoming stronger by the day. Its products are varied and BenQ has made forays into almost all areas like, digital displays, digital cameras, personal computers, personal Audio/Video, mobile phones, networking products and peripherals. Oflate this brand name is being heard more often in India in the mobile phone segment and amongst its range, I am writing here about the M560G GSM phone.

Its rather a cute phone (got a trendy design, I am sure the female crowd will love carrying this around), going by the features that it has, the signal strength and especially the price positioning. Writing about the price first, its a GSM phone which is available in the Indian market for lesser than, Rs.4000 (we actually paid Rs.3700 in Bangalore, INDIA).

It has the following features and I went around using the features that mostly a common man would do in everyday mobile phone usage - handling incoming and outgoing calls and usage of SMS.

Here are the features of BenQ M560G: 1. Dimensions : 99X42X19mm. 2. Weight : 79g. 3. Volume : 79cc. 4. GSM Dualband (900/1800). 5. GPRS. 6. WAP browser. 7. EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) 8. 16-bits polyphonic ring tones. 9. Ring tones composer. 10. Infrared. 11. Alarm clock, calculator and games. 12. Store up to 500 contact numbers in phonebook. 13. Up to 230 hours of standby time. 14. Up to 3 hours of talk time.

Looking at the phone, overall the features are very good, ease of handling rated high. Switching between options is cool. The display is quite large and fonts very clear, however, its black and white. It comes loaded with other features such as GPRS. The battery sustains you atleast for 2.5 to 3 days of normal use. However, I felt that as the alphanumeric keys are a bit small, it may take a while longer to key-in your SMS messages and send them.

Also the scroll keys (right/left, up/down) are a bit too hard, one realises this especially when you start playing the interesting games embedded in the phone. The signal clarity is good enough in all the places that I tried (suburbs of Bangalore) and the voice clarity was also superb. Its got a good collection of polyphonic ring tones.

Overall handling of the phone was comfortable. Data transmission kit and handfree headset are optional. It takes approximately 4 hours to fully charge the battery.

Conclusion: For the market price and the features provided, this phone, I feel, is worth a buy. So go ahead and give it a try. Thanks.
