Hey saw this on the listed on wanted reviews and hence this attempt.
This is supposed to be one of Madhuri’s good movies and needless to say, she looks good in the movie and has acted well in a very good role. However. the movie is just another family drama which makes it a little ordinary.
The movie should have been called ’Bahu’ caz it is about Madhuri and her mom-in-law. This lady marries Anil Kapoor (the marriage is due to circumstances where the hero saves the ’poor’ girl) and mom does not approve of the matrimony. All hell breaks loose and she insists that her son shud listen to her and not to the wife. The normal stuff of the family property, a wicked son, loyalty, motherhood, duty and all that is woven into the story.
The movie was famous caz of the song ’Koyal si teri boli’ and ’dhak dhak karne laga’. Madhuri, as usual, looks great and anil Kapoor does his best to put on the look of a simpleton.
The movie is shot in a traditional rural location. The camera guy has done a good job and so have the dialogue writers and the costume deginers. But too much of emotion could make you a little sick.
My recommendation: If you have not seen it, it is worth one look. But if you have not seen it, you aint gonna miss anything.
