We know that there are lot of good habits and we also know that by adopting these habits we can change our life completely. But wait who will follow so much habits and big question is how to follow.
Well the book exactly deals with that and you can get the book to dive deep. Or else I am giving the overview here which enough in itself! Here we go:
1) First of all dont keep self doubt just because a particular method isnt working for you. It might be because you are unique and your mechanism is different than others.
2) There are four types of people out there: -
a. Upholders = They want to fulfill both inner and outer expectations. They follow their rules strictly and are quite vocal about it.
b. Questionaires = They do every activity only when there is a purpose behind it. If something seems illogical to them, they wont take actions to adopt that habit.
c. Obligers = They are just the yes men. They need an outer source for motivation. They can tell no to themselves but not to others. Therefore they stay in pressure.
d. Rebels = They do something only while they feel like doing. Its all about their mood.
3) Thereby go for introspection and try to find out which of the above mentioned person you are.
4) Also for making any habit it is really important that you should know with what speed you are completing it. That is.
a. If you like to complete a work in slow pace and takes some time then you are a marathoner.
b. If you perform efficiently under pressure then you are a sphincter.
c. If you start working only under pressure but still feel guilty about it then you are a procrastinator.
5) To adopt new habits here is the rule system to follow:
i. Monitoring
ii. Foundation
iii. Scheduling
iv. Accountability
Well this wont work for you if you dont have a basic goal, in this case a habit.
6) And yeah last tip tackle your most problematic habit first. Look and identify , then strictly work on it.
Hope this helps. Do like dear it took time to write.
