Nice movie to watch

*Producer: Boney Kapoor

Director: Dharmesh Dharshan

Cast: Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Sushmita Sen and Anil Kapoor

Music: Nadeem-Shravan*

Dharmesh Darshan’s Bewafaa was a nice movie to watch. Kareena Kapoor is Anjali, a girl in Canada who is in love with Indian Raja(Akshay Kumar), an aspiring pop-star. Her first scene is she is woken up by her mother in the morning

The story revolves around Anjali(Kareena Kapoor) who is the younger daughter of her parents(Kabir Bedi and Nafisa Ali) settled in Montreal, Canada. Aarti(Sushmita Sen), her elder sister is married to Aditya Sahai(Anil Kapoor), a rich industrialist. Anjali loves her sister a lot and confides about Raja(Akshay Kumar), her love interest and musician. Aarti promises that she would convince her parents for their marriage once she delivers. In the turn of events that follow, Anjali is forced to marry her brother-in-law, Aditya Sahai. He absorbs himself completely in his work and has no feelings for them. Anjali nevertheless fulfills her duties as a true wife but is not able to bridge the gap between herself and her hubby. Then Raja reenters her life. Raja by now is very successful and a famous fusion singer. Anjali is torn apart between her love of her life and her duties as a wife and decides to pursue her extra-marital relationship with her lover. The problems begin when Dil(Manoj Bajpai) and his wife Pallavi(Shamita Shetty), Aditya’s close friends and confidantes, get to know of the clandestine meetings.

While the story is too predictable, it is hard to understand just why Anjali never informs Raja about her decision to marry her dead sister’s husband. The first half is interesting and the he second half is too slow .

Kareena Kapoor has become an expert at crying scenes. Akshay Kumar doesn’t bother with acting. Sushmita Sen looks good and Anil Kapoor seems go to work and then come home.

Nadeem-Shravan music is quite enticing. Dialogues by Dharmesh Darshan and Raj Sinha are good. The cinematography is extremely good and gives the entire film a very’rich’ look.
