Bewafaa music Good!

Dharmesh Darshan, Naddem-Sharavan and Sameer are back again after giving successful scores in Raja Hindustani and Dhadakan.

Their latest venture Bewafaa whose music was publicized as the biggest hit of the year even before its release . And why not, having stars such as Akshay Kumar, Anil kapoor, Kareena kapoor with the melodious duo composer(N-S) nothing can go wrong.

Bewafaa music is melodious, with some lovely lyric writing and well supported by singers, indeed a treat to music lovers!

1. Ek dilraba hai - udit narayan

The album starts with a sweet romantic number with an extremely catchy melodious tune and equally good lyric by Sameer. The best song of the album and no wonder sung by the numero uno singer udit narayan . It seems Udit is getting all the best songs this year; let it be Swades, Bewafaa or Kisna, udit steals the show in each album.

2. Pyaar ka anjaam - kumar sanu, alka yagnik, sapna mukherjee

A typical N-S number . Nothing extraordinary in this track, but sounds good on hearing .

A decent melodious tune with some situational lyrics and good vocals from Sanu and Alka. Sapna Mukherjee fails to impress. Highlight of this song are its arrangements, it seems N-S have realized the importance of arrangements!

3. Kaise piya se - lata mangeshkar

After the Success of Veer Zaraa (thanks to late madan mohan and chopras marketing) Lata is back to engross her fans.

Lata singing for Kareena! Difficult to digest . anyway this song is about woman’s love, a beautifully written song with some lovely tune.

Only lata fans can love it !!

4. Ishq chupta nahin – abhijeet

N-S strength has always been their melody. Most of their hits are soothing tracks Ishq Chupta nahin is such a track. It makes me wonder why musicians tend to copy and rehash their own numbers?? This song sounds very similar to N-S old track.

Abhijeet is wonderful in this song, may be Sonu nigam would have been a better choice, he would have been able to bring out the pain in an effective manner. The lyrics are simple. Again rehashed . Passable track.

5. Kehta hai kabutar - asha bhosle, shaan

Having singers like Asha Bhonsle and Shaan, one would expect a tremendous composition by N-S. unfortunately this song disappoints. Poor tune with equally poor rendition makes us to skip this song. Seems to be a situational number. Disappointing.

6. Pyaar ki raahein – shaan

A sad version of the first track. Shaan does a decent job. This song is just one and a half minutes. Nothing more to write about it.

7. Ek bewafaa hai - sonu nigam, chorus

A great track similar to the first track. When one felt that the album was slowly deteriorating N-S bounces back with an extraordinary composition. But its Sonu who steals the show with his marvelous rendition. An extremely energetic track and would be placed in the climax. Good arrangements my N-S, as said earlier, it seems they have put in lot of effort in this area.

8. Teri yaad...yaad...yaad - ghulam ali

After reading the name of Ghulam Ali, everyone would be interested to hear this track.

The Ghazal singer is as usual at his best. The song follows the traditional Ghulam Ali style. Lyrics by Sammer are also a highlight in this song.

A must hear for all music lovers. Great track!

9. Kaise piya se – instrumental

A piano version of lata’s track. Sounds cool!

10. Drum beat – instrumental

Unlike N-S track. They have indeed tried to be little different in this album. And the results show . Excellent drum beat. Very energetic!

On the whole, the album is very good , though few tracks are disappointing. Naming it their(N-S) best album would be incorrect. This album is good but not that great!

Music sales The CD’s are priced at Rs. 55. Yes! You read it right! This might tempt people to buy this album. The album is bound to be a big Hit. It would be interesting to watch whether Bewafaa dampens the prospects of Kisna which sounds too classy!

I recommend Bewafa album and give it a 3.5 / 5.
