I am sure you guys must have read the other reviews and so no need for me to go on and on about the cast and story of this movie.
I watched this movie in the airplane while travelling on a business trip. And I choose to watch this one because either I have already watched the others or I was out of choice due to my limited ability of understanding foreign languages other than english. Though in the middle of the movie I wish I had learned chinese and watch the other movie instead of this one.
It is a very light-hearted movie with as light humuor. good for passing one and a half hour away from tensions.As I started watching this movie I was sure it would be as funny and good as it’s original TV show. I remembered watching the reruns and laughs I had watching dick being cornered by his mother-in-law. the tricks she used to play on him and his wife and later his daughter defending him.
the movie was a real disappointment in that aspect. but I couldn’t stop marvelling at the idea of storyline. the movie was surreal. casting of crew for a remake of a famous sitcom while the storyline is proving to be real life experiences for the cast.
the director and the writer must have shed all their hair while projecting this idea on the screen, but they fail. So instead of creating the masterpiece as everybody hope they would, the final outcome was less than even a medioker.
I believe that the movie can be appealing to a philosopher or a pshycologist who have nothing else to do but to find something to think and write thesis about as I said the idea is good. I have not watched this type of constructiveness since star-wars and matrix trilogy. But they were more successful because either they have very good special effects or they were able to confuse the viewers which made the viewers glued to the screen. But in ths movie, director was confused whether to include magic or spells and to what extent. I think he must now be trying to get a spell to make people watch this movie. :-)
For other normal guys, my only suggestion is to watch this movie if you have nothing else to do or if you just want some time to relax ( it includes dozing off in the theatre ).
For young crowd, better go with your date so that you have time to know him or her better. This is the best movie for a drive-in date. ;-) Going with anybody else would prove merely a torture.
