Wal..The photograph does more than justice to the place..Takes around 4-5 hours to reach the place from Mumbai..
Warnings - (_o_) jarring drive from Igatpuri till you reach the resort..or was it due to the fact that I was going there after a 20 hr stint at work??:-) You decide..Food at MTDC is avoidable but not really cuz..no other hotel is nearby..made me wonder what made MTDC pull up a resort at this place but then it has resorts at weirder places..
Pluses - The view at night from a spot behind the MTDC resort..sitting on the steps..with the wind shrilly and blowing yer eardrums..have never been to a windier place..it was rocking at the time of night..chill to pique the senses even further..plus the moonlight drifting on the water..ah that was paisa vasool..best to be with yer beloved at night on that spot (time might just stop)..moonlight and stars in yer eyes..but was well imbibed by us stags too..sitting with Bacardi in the chill of the night..absolutely divine..
Then the water is clean too which is a marvel..skinny dipping is a totally diff. experience with no one giving ye a second look..Do yer own thing..Exploring the dam is a big no-no..if ye have a (_*_) of stone, ye might want to go to the Ratangad fort (we tried but didnt reach it)..
Overall - light on the pocket, sensual on the nerves, ideal any time of the year, whether one or many..
