A piece of heaven lost on earth

A friend informed me of a fresh & new destination called Bhandardara that feels as natural as a place you’ve known your whole life so close to Mumbai with a climate change from humid & hot to cool & peaceful. It was unbeelievable to know that there is a hill station which exists at a height of 2800 ft. above sea level & not known.

We started with apprehension & unbelievable at the type of destination it would turn out to be.The road was quite good & it took us 3 hrs thru the canopy of trees & as we drove we passed Maharashtra’s highest peak Mt. Kalsubai to reach Bhandardara.

Bhandadara, is situated on the banks of the Pravara River, is a small secluded, quiet get-away, nestled amidst the Sahayadri’s surrounded by the mountains with its valley, waterfalls, lakes, historical forts and ancient temples.

Nestled in the environs of Bhandarda is the luxury resort called Anandvan with its logo’’back to nature’’ which laid to rest all our unnecessary thoughts with advance booking at Anandvan Resort which I think is necessary in a hill station like Bhandardara.

Given below are a few places of interest in and around Bhandadara which one must visit

    WILSON DAM

    UNBRELLA FALLS

    ARTHUR LAKE

    MOUNT KALSUBAI

    AGASTI RISHI ASHRAM

    RATANGAD FORT

    AMRUTESHWAR TEMPLE

RANDHA FALLS

My stay was very comfortable with Anandvan , it is rustic luxury. my cottage with a garden had a beautiful view of the lake & shayadri range.

I would like to pen off now but friends let me end on this note Bhandardara is not an option its a destination of a different kind where there is limited accomodation so book early to avoid disappointment at Anandvan Resort or MTDC.
