It was in February that we decided to head towards Bhandardara over a weekend.
The journey itself took 3 hours till the MTDC resort. I guess the charm of Bhandardara lies in the fact that its still hasnt fallen prey to the commercialisation of tourism. The drive on the Mumbai-Nasik route was good. Once we took the detour through Ghoti village, the mountain peaks and the quietness of the place caught up with us.
The MTDC resort is located beside a manmade lake which houses the Wilson Dam. The backdrop of the mountains make it a picture-perfect place to be. It was very romantic and quiet. The food and the service at the resort is not great but its manageable.
We did hire the guide at the resort to visit Randha Falls, Kalsubai peak, and a couple of other places. Though Bhandardara does not have popular tourist hotspots, its just perfect as a getaway to take you away from the humdrum of city life.
