Bharat Excellensea- Go for the stuffed Bombay Duck.
Bharat Excellensea is strategically located between Fort and Ballard Estate. Its speciality is Mangalorean coastal cuisine alongwith a range of beers. Our favourite starters at this restaurant is the Stuffed Bombay Duck – Bombil stuffed with minced prawns and deepfried. So delicious that it simply melts in the mouth!
The restaurant is quite popular amongst office-goers as well as families on outings. The menu is varied and predominantly seafood. The prawn gassi and the fried surmai are amongst the long list of seafood delicacies churned out by this restaurant.
And those who do not want to go for the Beer alongwith their food, can try out the Fresh lime Soda which is a refresher.
The Fort area has many seafood joints like Mahesh, Apoorva etc which are in a class of their own. But the food at Bharat Excellensea is something different. Try it out for yourself – you will keep going there often.
There’s Punjabi and Continental food also on the menu but I prefer to go there only for the coastal cuisine.
The staff are quite courteous and the airconditioned comfort ensures that the sweat running from one’s brows while digging into a fiery curry, is contained before it runs down one’s collar!
