I was a student of this university from 1991-96.This varsity was established in 1978 to cater to the needs of students hailing from coimbatore, nilgiris and erode districts in Tamil nadu.This institution is known for its excellence in management, engineering and economics faculties.This varsity is strongly recommended for students who are in between ie average.However, sporting facilities is very poor and the quality of students it attracts is largely average.It has got an excellent distance education programme also.It caters to a lot of malayalees too, one of the cons of this institution is that it has got a lot of affiliated colleges which are self-financing who charge quite a lot of money on several pretexts.The authorities have failed to keep a stern eye on this aspect, leading to avoidable dilution in academic standards
