Bharatiya is a Marathi movie released in 2012. But unfortunately I could watch the same only recently. It is absolutely awesome and first class movie.
The story line is very innovative. It shows real creativity of the authors. Fighting with government is never simple job but for a village of about 150 residents it is no lesser than a giant work by any standards.
A village which is neither in Maharashtra nor in Karnataka finds itself suddenly in news. Valuable gold discovered in basement of old house invites politicians from both states. To keep the village in the hands of villagers the protagonist declares the village a separate nation. He fights hardest to ensure that situation remains under his control.
Village faces snubbing and pressure on all counts from Indian Government. Finally very innovative thinking from protagonist leads to village getting minimum necessities and recognition from government.
Movie is must watch! Did not see any parallel movies recently.
