"Bhargava charitam Moonnam Khandam (The Third Part of Bhargava’s Legend)"

Language: Malayalam

Cast: Mammootty, Srinivasan, Rahman, Sai Kumar, Nikita, K.P.A.C. Lalita, Salim Kumar, Mohan Jose, Johny, Ranjit & Padma Priya

Story

The basic idea is lifted from “Analyze This”. Here, after years long research in the US, the famous psychiatrist Dr. Shantaram (Srinivasan) is back in India to start his “mind clinic”. His sister is engaged to an ace cop (Rahman) who is after the Drug Lords who cultivate Ganja in the deep western ghat forests. Dr.Shantaram wants to marry the cop’s young sister(Nikita). Now enters The famous gangster “Current” Bhargavan (Mammootty) , who is flying above the clutches of law and working for the drug lords. He wants to take treatment from Dr. Shantaram to get rid of his nervousness. Now the cop (Rahman) takes advice from a senior officer (Sai Kumar) who is on long leave due to the depression caused by his repeated failures in catching the mafia. Now the cop is after the gangster, he is after the doctor and the doctor is after the cop’s sister.

The film starts with some funny sequences but towards the interval, everything is spoilt as the never-ending clichés are poured one by one.

   Acting Performances:

These days, Mammootty has nothing great to do . But in some emotional scenes he does well. Sreenivasan tries hard to make us laugh. But nobody laughed except for one or two scenes. I couldn’t understand what was Padmapriya’s character was made for. Nikita, Rahman etc. are watchable. Rahman looks handsome. KPAC Lalita excels in her small role.

Script, Direction & Cinematography:

Cinematography by Manoj Pillai is excellent. But Sreenivasan failed to remake “Analyze This”. Joemon failed to come back as a director after the long break.

So...

Keep away ....
