Bheemeshwari --- A Nice Family Spot in the woods and not ver far away from the city of Bangalore. I had a chance to book a Log Hut with all decent features inside the Loghut and right infront of the Amazing Kaveri River. Since I visited in July hence the river was flooded and hence water level was high and very close to the Log Huts. But Its safe so no threat as such due to rising waters.
We Started at 9 am in the morning from Bangalore and reached around 12 noon at the Cauvery Fishing Camp.There are signs to Cauvery Fishing Camp from time to time once you pass Kanakpura. If you are not sure you can ask any localite and they would direct you properly. Roads are good till Saathnur but once you take a left on Sathnur , roads are in little Bad shape.After you pass Mutathi ( Cauvery Fishing Camp is just 6Kms from Mutathi and the drive is thrilling as you have to go thru the Ghat kinda roads ( WInding Roads).
After we reached the camp we settled in our Log Hut and immediately Lunch was served in Gol Ghar ( Common place for having Lunch). Lunch was good with a Veg & Non-Veg Food items being served. After lunch we rested a while ( a Nap in the Hammock ...they are tied infront of every Log Hut) plus the gushing kaveri waters sounded very soothing to the Ears ( Much Much better than the Traffic & Honking sound we all are subjected in city life).
At around 4.30 Tea/Coffee was served and it was our time to have some Adventure activities. The Camp team took us to a Place upstream along side the river and then we had a chance to sit in the coracle boats and subject ourselves to the Kaveri Rapids. WOW !!! Very Good experience.Nothing to worry as you have life jackets with you. We spotted 3 Crocodiles that were lazying on the Banks. Took couple of pictures as well .
We were back to the Camp and then around 7 Camp fire ( Barbeque) was arranged with soft & Hard drinks for serving. Cool Breeze along with the Fire infront of you sets you mood high time. Dinner is served between 8.30 to 10 and nice food there as well .
NExt day early morning we went for a Guided Trek.Nice place.Because of monsoons its all covered with lush green forests everywhere. After a Short trek , I could see everyone was Hungry and wanted the Breakfast ASAP. Luckily the Breakfast was ready as soon as we reached to our camps !!! Nice breakfast too !!!
I recommend to Go for this in Monsoon as Summers are very Hot and the Mahaseer Fishing Season is during December - January. So if you are expecting some fishing in Monsoon , you may not be able to do so in Monsoon. But for me Monsoon is the Ideal season to visit and stay at Caveri Fishing Camp.
So Guys if you need a Perfect Break ...Just drive yourself with your family to this Nice place ...Definately recommended ...Just Start Packing !!!!!
