I am not usually a’first day’ audience at the movies except for a few. However, I am an avid movie watcher and there came a day when I had nothing left to watch other than Bheja Fry. The mixed reactions to the movie didnt help my trepidation one bit. But the movie turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Not only have the actors performed well, but also the plot line is pretty simple and realistic. What made it most remarkable for me was that I could actually envision such a thing happening in real life.
The teasers on telivision promised a comedy and that is what it was. But it is the kind of comedy which can be appreciated by those who seek a slice of life in the movies they watch. The characters are so sincere in their tomfoolery, it has you in splits. however, someone hoping for slapstick humour is going to be disappointed. The story line is very simple and centres mostly around Vinay and his antics and how it affects the life of the people around.There are human specimens like the character Vinay plays who are very good at frying your bheja.
Good editing, everyday characters, each to follow plot, overall Bheja Fry is worth a first look. Maybe a second, third or a fourth too.
