Hi everyone.
Today I am going to review the BHIM app. This app has been launched by the Indian government to serve the purpose of cashless transactions or digital payments.
You know how difficult it could be to transfer money from your bank into someone elses. Obviously we can use Net banking but that process reuires technical skills and a lot of information about the person whom we are willing to transfer the money like Customers name, bank name, bank IFSC code, A/C No etc.
Thats when the BHIM app comes into play.
It works like Paypal. While making transactions through Paypal, all you need to have is the user name of the person whom you want to transfer the money from your bank account. While in case of Bhim, you need you need to have their phone number. The only real difference is that Bhim works in India while Paypal works for National as well as international payments.
But I had a bad time with this app aka Bhim. I have carefully registered myself on this application along with all my bank details like Account Numher, Debit card number, Validity etc. However, I have not been able to set a UPI PIN on my account.
When I go to the set UPI button, it asks me the last six digits of my debut card and its validity, then I get an otp from my bank Oriental bank of Commerce. After that I am asked to set a 6 digit UPI pin for my account, which is further asked for conformation. But in the end, it tells me OTP reset failed.
Im quite sure this is the problem with either my bank or this app itself.and this must be fixed as soon as possible.
I will not recommend you to use the BHIM app.
