When this app was launched during Digi Dhan Mela in Delhi in 31 Dec 2016 by our honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi I thought it would be a great tool for all Indians to do cashless transaction smoothly. I also downloaded this app from playstore and started to use it, at first I felt little difficulty to register my number in this app because of my very old SBI Maestro card which has no expiry date written on it so after solving this problem when I started to send and receive money with this BHIM app I realised how easy and smooth digital transaction could be but I also got some spam money transfer notification in this app and initially there was no button to report about this issue but the developer solve this problem in the next update now if you get spams you can report it which is a very good move. The layout of this app is very simple and easy to use and most interesting thing is that you can access all your bank accounts in a single app so you do not need different apps for different banks account. UPI based transaction is very useful you just need your BHIM apps password and mpin thats it you are good to go. The other mobile wallets are also provide same kind of services but BHIM is better because here you do not need to recharge your wallet because here transaction happened between bank account to another bank account and it is also backed by NPCI which makes it more secure than any other private providers. Now I want to speak some of the cons of this app like you can not recharge your mobile or pay your electricity/DTH bill with this app. Government of India is also not promoting this app like the other private operators do for their apps thats why we see local shop keepers are still using paytm or any other mobile wallet services and not this great app. This app has a huge potential and if we want we can use it and all the cons can be discarded by the new updates and I think those new updates are coming for this app very quickly. GOI should force the private companies/institutions to accept UPI based transactions right now I only find that Paytm wallet can be recharged with UPI but I do not find any other companies who provide this service. The thing is that BHIM app could be more relevant if the other operators support it. We just need an ecosystem where each and everybody accepts all the modes of digital transactions. So in the present scenario this app is little bit neglected but I am very hopeful in future this app can be main tool of transacting money.
