Trekks to Bhimashankar is an amazing experience all together. Its an ideal place to get away from the crowdy and polluted environment of Mumbai. Its been 10 years since I have been visiting this place and has never been disappointed with excitement, fun we find in this place.
With lushy green jungles, hills and waterfall and if you are lucky you can see wild animals as well. On the top of the hill, you can visit the Bhimashankar temple which comes under the Khed taluka of Pune. One can also visit the Gupt Bhimashankar temple which 1 hour trek from Bhimashankar.
Way to bhimashankar is get down at Karjat-take a 10 seater rick to Khandas village and from there the trek starts. There are 2 ways, one is Ganesh Ghat which is less risky and the 2nd one is Seedi Ghat which is risky but at the same time exciting. It will be like life on the edge if u go by seedi ghat. AMAZING!!! place and I would recommend this place between July-Sep for trekking.
