Ye kaisi bhool (mistake) bhulaiyaa

So, it is out and you must be planning to watch it. Why

not? It has Hera – Pheri combo of Akshay, Priyadarshan, Neeraj and Paresh.

But,

beware. This is no Hera – Pheri. This is no Virasat as well, one of the best

movies by Priyan. The movie had been promoted big time in last two months and

looked promising to an extent.  Alas, it

has nothing, absolutely nothing at all to deserve such hype.

As all would be aware of the story by now, it is a

story of a couple (Shiney and Vidya) who come to India from US of A and decide to

stay at Shiney’s ancestral bungalow which is purportedly the abode of ghosts.

They ignore this and move into the haveli. Soon, the much irritating drama and

noise begins. Vidya is hell bent on deciphering the mystery behind closed doors

and the couple calls upon the help of their psychiatrist friend from USA, Akshay Kumar. Joining him in

his endeavors are other mortals like Amisha, Paresh, Rajpal, Asrani et al. Most

of them are repeatedly seen in almost all of Priyan’s movies and are gradually

getting onto my nerves.

The movie in its 4th version is total crap

in all fields barring some impressive cinematography. To beginners, I say 4th

as it is been made in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada already and all 3 were

hugely hit. Malayalam one deserves special mention as Shobana won the National

Award for Best Actress for Manichitrathazhu.

When I first came to know about

BB, I watched Malayalam and Kannada (Apthamithra)

versions. As I have always maintained that 2 movies in no way should be

compared as long as one is inspired or a remake version of other. BB very well

falls in the second category. So, all I would say it is no where closer to its

Dads and Grandfathers (read earlier versions). And the reason for its down plunge

in Hindi goes to the cast. They all are loud, irritating to the core of making

you wish they were right in front so you could have squeezed the life out of

them.

Do not be fooled by what the

actors/makers have to say on TV. The opening collection is amazingly high. Stars

are on all TV channels promoting it in a big way. But did any one notice Akshay

is not to be seen in any promotions. He has kept himself cleverly away from all

hoopla. May be he got the whiff that it’s not going to do much to his career.

The guy is damn smart when it comes to PR. Professionally he is doing well but

he badly needs an image change. Once he was known as action hero. Khans were

dominating the Bollywood. He stylishly carved a niche and soon became

dependable actor after Khans. Thanks to his brilliant comic timing. Now he

feels he is stuck and if he has to maintain his credibility he needs to move

on. And this is the right time to do so.

Shiney, poor boy doesn’t

know what he was doing. I guess he signed it just cuz it was Priyan movie. I

haven’t seen him getting a meatier role after Gangster. He was reduced to

pieces in Metro compared to other actors and now in this as well he has nothing

much to do except singing, romancing and using his lap top.

Vidya is one female I truly

admire in the sense that she is quite aware of her abilities to act and dance

and still keeps a high head everywhere as if she is next Madhuri. Come on girl

get real. For me she is THE most over-rated female actor ever.

Amisha, now who told her she

can act?

Paresh, Asrani, Rajpal are

usual. If Priyan comes up with any more movies with these same crops, I swear I

will take a vouch and boycott his movies forever.

In the end I would not say

watch the other same day release (Some Chunari and Daag and all) as I myself haven’t

seen that and have no intention of doing so. You do not have to be Einstein to

even guess how would that be? If BB is bad, that will be worst and if at all

that is ok then BB deserves direct Oscar entry.
