You`re in for a scare!!!!Because BHOOT is here!

Dream Merchants ’’Bhoot’’, produced by Nitin Manmohan and directed by Ram Gopal Varma stars Ajay Devgan, Urmila Matondkar, Rekha, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Tanuja, Seema Biswas and Victor Bannerjee. This is one of the most hyped and most awaited film of the year. There are plenty of reasons:

1.First of all, it`s trailors are very attractive.

2.The trailors show that Urmila Matondkar is back with an EXCELLENT performance after Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.

3.The so SCARY songs like ’’Bhoot Hai Yahan Koi’’ or ’’Bhoot Hoon Main’’.

4.The trailors saying ’’So you DO NOT believe in ghosts...you will!’’

5.Such a great star cast!

6.It has been directed by Ram Gopal Varma who always makes DIFFERENT films than routine Bollywood films.

So many questions come in our mind.Is this film REALLY scary? Is it going to be different? Will it contain all the chills and thrills. After watching this film a BIG YES to every question. This film has all which we expect from a real SCARY film.

The story revolves around a couple, Vishal(Ajay Devgan)and Swati(Urmila Matondkar). They both come to Mumbai to live in a flat. There is a mystery in this flat and it is of a girl called Manjit. She used to live over there before and she fell off from the roof of her appartment. Many people believe she commited suicide and many people believe that she was mentally depressed. No one wants to live in that appartment but Vishaal does not believe in such things. The owner of the whole building makes sure that Vishaal knows everything but he loves the flat and as mentioned above, he is not superstitious at all.He doesn`t tell anything to his wife but one day his wife gets to know everything about the girl Manjit. After sometime, she begins to feel that there is a GHOST in her house. She usually sees a lady but that also only a glimpse of her.She tells everything to her husband but he does not believe it at all.The lady keeps on haunting Swati and from then, Swati`s life becomes a nightmare.

The other charcters in the film are very interesting as well.Let`s take a look at their characters.

Victor Banerjee(psychiatrist):Victor Bannerjee is playing Swati`s(Urmila`s)psychiatrist in the film.He himself is also a very upset person in his life because his beloved daughter is suffering from cancer but he still treats Swati because he finds her case very interesting and experimental.

Nana Patekar(Inspector Quraishi):This inspector is very interesting. The way he talks and investigates a case is just excellent. He is a cool minded person and keeps interest in his work.

Rekha(the lady who gets deep into the mystery):She is a lady who knows everything about Manjit. She is the one who helps this couple and reveal every deep dark secret.

Seema Biswas(The maid):This maid in the appartment of the couple comes at mornings to clean the house. She knows many things about Manjit and she is a bit CRACK, always smiling without any reason.

Tanuja(mother of the BHOOT):This woman is very sad and depressed because of her daughter Manjit`s death but she soon gets to know that her daughter is back.

Fardeen Khan(Sanjay):Sanjay is the mystery man in this story. He is the son of the owner of the building. He has a very dark secret what is it?

Ram Gopal Varma`s direction is just par excellence. He has given Bollywood a new way to make horror films. There are no Nadeem_Shravan songs, no Switzerland songs, no TYPICAL Bollywood romance, no overacting and not an UNBELIEVABLE ghost. In fact, there are very gripping scenes in the film such as:

1.The scene where Vishaal is told about Manjit.

2.The scene in which it is the couple`s first night in the flat and a ghost is there.

3.The scene where Swati takes out a doll form the cupboard and the spirit of a child is looking at her.

4.The scene where Swati looks at the ghost in the beach.

5.The scene where Swati starts to behave in a strange way.

6.The scene where Vishaal goes to the lady(Rekha).

7.The scene where Manjit`s mother comes.

8.Fardeen Khan`s introduction.

The screenplay is great and the film moves very fast.It is not slow and does not make the viewer feel bore, in fact, every scene of the film is very interesting. There are no songs in the film which makes it look more simple, realistic and SCARY.Sound effects by Dwarak Warrier are of international standard and so is Salim Sulaiman`s background music.Editing is crisp!Samir Sharma and Lalit Marathe`s script is very different and the story is very unpredictable.Vishal Sinha`s cinematography is really great which takes the viewer while viewing the film, into deep thoughts. The songs in the album are just excellent and ON THE TRACK.The songs talk about REAL FEAR which a person has when he thinks about ghosts.

And now the performances!

Ajay Devgan is playing a macho man with a beard and fits really well in this character. The intensity in his eyes and his natural acting makes this character look realistic.

Rekha is very EFFECTIVE.She has the looks on her face which make you think WHO is she and she makes her character really unpredictable through her acting!

Tanuja is another great performer!

Nana Patekar as the COOL cop is cool and his dialogue delivery is very impactful.

Victor Bannerjee is competent.

Seema Biswas adds mystery in this film. She is the actress who was in Bandit Queen and then Khamoshi and in Company. This performance is also one of her best.

Fardeen Khan registers an impact in a role which is about for 15 to 20 minutes.

But the real HERO of the film is Urmila Matondkar It has been very unfair with her that she didn`t get any award, despite being a great actress. Her performance was just too good in Kaun and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. This film is going to get her an award and if she wouldn`t get then it would be totally unfair with her.In films like Deewangee or Kunwara her talent has been wasted but now she is back with a stunning performance.

On the whole:

Bhoot has it all, we are looking forward to.The film has suspense, mystery, thrills, chills and HORROR.There is no lady moving in a white sarree singing scary songs, there is no Mandir in which a Tantrik is saying mantras, there is no ghost whose mouth is bleeding, a simple yet scary film.So go see the BHOOT right now!
