A ram gopal varma movie always creates an excitement among the cine goers..bhoot is no different..hence with lots of expectation I went to see bhoot . but boy , was I disappointed !! the movie began well..it tells the story of this young couple who moves in to a new flat in the middle of mumbai who later finds the house to be haunted..the basic plot starts from this point but this is exactly where the problem begins...the film starts taking a stance which in this modern era is hard to digest...the climax has been a big let down...u see the whole movie expecting something to happen but no it just doesnt...but having said that , the movie has its moments like the scene where urmila leaves the house in middle of the night and in the next scene we are shown the body of the chowkidar with his head twisted !! moreover technically the movie is mind blowing..good cinematography, good editing and some smart set designing..the background score was loud but I guess it was needed to create the right mood among the audiences..performance wise urmila was brilliant as the young housewife in whose body the spirit of the dead lady or rather the bhoot enters..ajay rightfully gives a restrained performance...surprisingly seema biswas as the maid and nana patekar as the police officer brings some comic relief in this otherwise tense film..it was also good to see victor banerjee and rekha after a long time..all said and done one must congratulate ramu for having the guts to make this off the beaten track movie..he is one director who thankfully doesnt belive in sticking to the so called formula ...carry on ramu...and yes looking forward to seeing your darna mana hai
