~I saw BHOOT...but why?~ {Me and horror...no way!}
I had read a couple of reviews on Bhoot expressing or rather convincing me that BHOOT is more of laughter than heart-beats/cold palms...
Saturday being a holiday{Ha!everyday is a holiday for me till college reopens}and a long time no see from my friends we finally decided to watch this BHOOT.
~Pre-bhoot happenings.~
My friend calls me up ...I ring up another and so the chain goes on...a group of five is ready.{only one of my friend 18 yrs, all other minors}
My friend, rather surprised at my courage...pats my back
and we{Indian standard Timers}reach Cine Planet late{as usual}.HOUSE FULL !
After a few Oh nos! and What next? we rush towards Imax Adlabs to catch the next show.
Initially the ticket counter man refused us tickets Its for adults!Whats up with ull?But later sold the tickets warning us that Dont blame me if the entry man refuses an entry to ull!
Luckily, we entered without any botherations from the entry man ....and there we were!
watching BHOOT in the SCREEN 3 {ill tell later about this}of Imax Adlabs.
~CAST~
# Urmila Matondkar as swati
#Ajay Devgan as vishal
# Seema biswas as bai
#Nana Patekar as inspector
#Rekha as the tantrik
#Tanuja as manjeets mother
#barkha madan as manjeet
~PLOT~
A couple {swati & vishal}shifts in a duplex flat on the top floor of building.
The previous occupants are known to have commited suicide by jumping from the living room -terrace.
Although vishal knows of this he hides this from swati leaving her dissappointed on learning the fact.
Swati notices someone in the house but later thinks that she must be imagining something.
Little does she know, that she would than be possessed by that same someone.
After being possessed...she does all weird things like sleep-walking,
calls out with weird voices, even murders the watchman.
Vishal, rather perplexed at her behaviour, seeks medical help but to no avail.
At the end , its the tantrik who rescues swati of this possession
which also helps in solving the murder mystery.
Its Fardeen Khan who has killed the considered suiciders and hence the suicider{manjeet}comes back to take revenge.
Ultimately, the sin is punished and swati gains back her ownself.
~ Camera and sound effects~
Simply superb! Sound effects are a important part of any horror flick and RGVs BHOOT does justice to the same.
Obviously, it differs from theatre to theatre and I recommend that if you want to really scare yourself watch this movie in a good theatre.
Camera effects were also good .
~Performances~
Urmila as usual has done a splendid performance.Kudos to her for that!
Ajay Devgan has managed his role.
Nana Patekar was also good and the only one whom I didnt doubt to be the killer.{lolz}
I feel that rekha could have done better.
I am scared to talk about M...... so please forgive me.
All others were okay.
~Why BHOOT is different?~
# It revolves around the life of an ordinary couple and hence manages to impress common city public.
#It does not include a white saree lady or disgusting faces which is quite common in horror flicks.
#The background and places used are our regular places.
Remember the IMAX ADLABS , CHOWPATTY, NANAVATI HOSPITAL.Wonder if I will ever go to these places alone !
#The best part of the movie was that we were seated in the screen 3 of Imax Adlabs which is shown in the movie.Now, isnt that scary?
~BONJOURS advice{read at your own risk}~
#Dont do bad deeds...Remember what happened to fardeen at the end.
#If you are a regular watcher of horror than BHOOT will leave you laughing.But, if you are a chic{like me}watch the movie with someone who wont laugh at you when you are scared.
#If you are a chic and are forced to watch the movie,
read the story before you watch the movie.Maybe it will spoil the fun but atleast you wont have to hold your friends hand throughout the movie.
# If you are under 18 and still want to watch the movie make sure you appear as 18 to avoid unnecessary dissapointment.
#Watch it in a good theatre with good sound effects.
# Reach the theatre on time{ lolz}
PS: This is my first movie review.
Thanks for bearing me till now.
I am waiting for comments.
Good luck,
