Was it just a movie? Or was it a true story?;) Maybe
Bhoothnath, inspite of all the low key advertising is NOT your average lowkey Amitabh movie. See it for a very fine performance by the legend. See it also for some fantastically natural housewife-next-door role portrayal by Juhi, ignore the bad characterisation of Satish Seth, but do keep an eye out for Rajpal Yadav. Shah Rukh is definately Un-Sharukhian in this movie and that makes him tolerable.( BTW all you die hard SRK fans out there, this movie is not his, its Big Bs and SRK sulks throughout)
And then theres Banku! Absolutely the naughty lovable kid in your neighbourhood who delivers his performance with an amazing panache. He and the Big B make an amazing pair as they discover each other, become friends and stay that way.
No point in dissecting the movie into Part 1 or 2 because the story in Part 1 is based on the events as depicted in Part 2.
What was lovable was the fact that in all the magic, the story keeps us on the straight and narrow as Bhoothnath, always willing to help his friend in all sorts of trouble( and some mischief too) will NOT help him win unfairly.
The story made me laugh and made me cry as well. A must see for modern parents struggling to fill their children with values and ideals in a difficult world
The Rajpal Yadav comedy scenes are amazingly funny. So are the scenes with Aman and Big B.
Havent seen TZB but this kid sure gives the TZB kid a long run for his money.
The direction is good. The titles though flew by too fast.
Vishal Shekhar are improving as musicians however in my view apart from " Nobody does it better" there was no need for any other song in the movie.
A definate must see, even if you dont have kids.
Believe in magic.
