First off, I would like to say that I relly like the Big Bazaar concept and have nothing personal against the company. Looking at the huge success it is in Bnagalore and Bombay I estimate atlest 10000 shoppers a week at each location. Now each shopper is going to carry home the months supply of groceries and other stuff - at great savings. What I dont understand is the policy of the checkout and billing staff to ’’Heatseal’’ the mouths of all plastic bags! this effectively ensures that u tear open the bag on reaching home - logical progression, no use for a torn plastic bag so throw it into the bin. 10000*2 = 20000 plastic bags thrown away into the bin each week!!!! I have been trying to make a noise abt this with their head office - but to no use. pls help guys and lets save our environment. let them put tape on the bags or let us get our own cloth / jute bags. for all our sakes. is any one listening??
