This saturday 27th feb at big bazaar was really embarrassing and annoying as well.
I visited big bazaar agra retail outlet (professor’s colony) with my wife. There we were briefed about the great exchange offer and were instructed that we have to shop for 4 times the value of exchange coupon & in case of food/electronics items 8 times value of the exchange coupon to avail this offer. (terms & conditions point number 2)
We accepted the offer and exchanged material for rs 810 exchange coupons. We went inside keeping in mind that we will have to shop non-food & non-electronics items for rs 3240 at least. We picked up non-food items like detergent surf, arial, chair, diapers, soaps, shampoos, tooth paste, utensil cleaning liquid, brush, plastic box ….etc. We reached to billing counter and told to the cashier about using our coupons. He started scanning the items and told that it is around rs 3240. I offered him rs 810 coupons. But he said politely that he can take only rs 400 coupons from me as these all are food items. We were surprised as we picked up only non-food items. Person at counter told me to have word with csd representatives.
At csd desk, representative sur-named rathore were informed about the matter. He said the same thing that all items that we picked up are food items and advised us to read pamphlet carefully. We once again read the offer letter thinking we missed out something but we did not find anywhere that shampoo, detergent etc are food items and we are supposed to buy them of at least 8 times of coupon value. We were surprised why mr rathore is misleading us. When we asked him that offer letter says food items but ours are non-food items. He replied very rudely and said cannot you understand what is written on it. Food items means food bazaar items and all things you picked up are food bazaar items so you have to shop 8 times at least. We said but scheme pamphlet says food items not the food bazaar items. Now his expressions were like we are fool and don’t deserve chat with him.
We requested to another representative on csd desk to call his manager/senior in-charge. After 15 mins mr suresh pandey, senior in charge were there to have a word with us. But surprisingly he also refused us to help in anyway. He said that he understands what we are saying but he cannot help us in it as he has not made this scheme and he is helpless. I requested him to write same thing on paper. But he refused promptly. We said why cannot you write this thing that you mean food bazaar items, not the food items. Now he was also in angry mode and said forcedly i cannot help you, neither i can write nor can give you any offer. You can do whatever you want. Now this was the height of testing my patience. I threw my coupons on ground and thought these all are useless. We were feeling cheated and insulted. We thought to complain this in complaint book and go back him without any shopping but with humiliation, insult & useless coupons. We asked the complaint book. Mr rathore gave a paper and said to write on that. We reiterated for complaint book. He said that is fine to write on paper. When we again said he gave feedback book and there my wife, put down our concern.
I bend down to pick up our coupons, but to my surprise someone stole them from there. When i told mr pandey and mr rathore about it, they said you only threw them. We don’t know where are they. Mr rathore’s eyes were smiling like he has won over us and had been able to put us in loss.
I requested them to find out the thief by watching camera recording. They denied and said these are not working. Now we were sure it is not possible that this camera are in-operative. We felt that someone among them has conducted this steal. I was determined to see the video and catch the thief. To hear noises someone introducing himself as senior most came and said he will get reissued exchange coupons. He instructed someone to bring coupons. But what i see coupons brought were same that i lost few mins back. But i did not say anything and thought to go back home silently as it was like hitting our head against a wall.
Finally we moved out of the big bazaar silently feeling lost, embarrassed, cheated, and insulted. If video recordings of that day are viewed then one will easily come to know how a costumer is treated at big bazaar outlet.
Guys think once, not once, but always while planning to shop from big bazaar (i.e. Barbaad bazaar)
