The Wonder

Technology is advancing at a huge pace and this place is really a technological wonder. IMAX is simply fantastic. My first visit was fabulous, we went in a huge group and explored every inch of this place. Well, its the only one in India and the world’s best quality projector is used here. The excitement of just watching the movie is so overwhelming.

Most movies in the dome theatre last only for about 50 minutes or so. The tickets right now cost only Rs. 60 which is comparitively cheap for a most wonderful time here. The rows are well apart giving us all each an individual experience. The 3-D experience is just so awesome. When the IMAX camera films while moving at a great speed be it over the Nile or at the cliffs in Grand Canyon, you will definitely feel very elated. The last show is unfortunately at 7.00pm itself.

Well, the feeling you experience at IMAX can hardly be expressed in words. You need to have a first hand experience.

Well, the cafe sit-out is great and so is the thrillarium centre, though this is pretty costly for Rs.50 per head for a mere 5-6 minute show. Further, this is a multiplex showing numerous other films apart from the dome theatre. The decor is excellent having a good ambience.

On the contrary, the building exteriors sure shows a lack of maintenance with so much dust on the dome that it spoils the appearance:D There is ample parking space and it looks pretty neat. They also hold bungee-jumping on its grounds which also is an exhilarating experience!

The only problem we had was when the dome-festival shows were on. The last show was made a free-show without much advertisement in the papers. In fact, the day we headed for the place, the ad specifically listed that the dome-theatre tickets would cost Rs.60. We reached there at about 6.15 for the 7p.m. show and here was an endless line of a very huge crowd. Thats when we realised what was going on.

We were late for the 6pm show since it was hardly a 50 minute show and there was no point in viewing the last 20 minutes or so. And of course, tickets for the 7pm free show was sold out as the locals had formed the line from 4.30 itself. We live far way from this place and had no option but to leave and come the next day. Most of us were livid with anger because of the misleading ads. Also, the helpline was not answered when we had tried to confirm the show. Our 2-hr trip was wasted.

Though the place is really great, they must have a more organised and systematical way of management and must not mislead the public with wrong ads.
