I recently had the occasion to revisit Metro cimema for the first time after its conversion into a multiplex. I saw Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna there on the first Sunday after its release.
I went to the theatre expecting it to be like any other multiplex but I was stunned. Form the entrance itself you can see glimses of the granduer that Metro has always stood for. You start to remember all the premiers held there and the crowds outside waiting for a glimse of the stars. The interiors have been done up beautifully and still show the opulence of times gone by. There are huge plasma screens all around showing previews. The sweeping staircase to the first floor takes to to the other screens and the ebony lounge. Though I havent visitied the ebony lounge yet though Im told thats an experience.
I saw the film in screen 2 on the ground floor. The screen size is large and seating is very comfortable. The sound quality too is excellent. The overall experience of watching a film there is very good. As for the snacks the menu needs working on as the burger was too dry and cold. However popcorn is fresh and quanities are good.
One thing I liked about the LOO was the small LCD screens giving film history info. That is a very cute touch. Also the car park is still the same small size so go early or better park in one the lanes around.
All said I feel that to watch a film at Metro is a great way to spend an evening. I would heartily recommend it to anyone.
