I have seen many people switching from Cable to BIG tv (thnx to their ad campaign). After seing myself , I would like to point some hitches in DTH from a normal user perspective.
1 . Channel surfing- In cable we can arrange the channels & numbers , group them as per our wish. In DTH , yes u can make many favourite lists but the pleasure of changing channels randomnly is not that much convinient.
As everybody watches TV , elder people refrain from getting in to STB Remote. If by mistake they press some other buttons.. surely they cannot come back to live tv. So their freedom is taken away by these complex remotes.
There are lot of junk channels & Surfing among them is irritating...
Once your service is disrupted, they will repair at their own wish.Meanwhile you can stop paying monthly amount or catch hold of cable guy on the road..!!!
Channel surfing is very slow in DTH (1-2 seconds ) & sometime u wont feel like changing the channel itself.. :)
Any new channel in future if it is good , cable wala will give you, while it is fixed in DTH.
