I am from Bangalore, I bought a big TV connection on September 1st. The plan was 2190 south. I got it installed at my home after 7 days on Sep 8th. On Sep 18th I was not able to see any of the channels. It was displaying please subscribe to this channel. I called up customer care(It is another story which I will explain later). They said the installation people has not uploaded my application even after 10 days of installation so it has happened. The customer care person took my details and I got DTH working after 2 days. It worked without issues for another 2 weeks.
On October 6th I was not able to watch some malayalam channels like Asianet and Kairali. Again I called up Customer care, they said that my regional pack is Marathi thats why I am not getting malayalam channels. I know I have written malayalam which is my mother tongue in the application. But some how in their database it is Marathi. Again installation people are culprits. Today is October 8th and still I am not getting my malayalam channels. I was told on 6th that it would take 24 hours. I called up on 7th night. I was told that it is under process. And that guy told he is going to escalate upon my request.
I asked him to copy me when he escalates but I have not recieved any mails yet. I dont know when is it going to work. Then regarding 24x7 customer care. It takes ages to connect to a customer care representative. I think they have only one custmer care representative working for them. Yesterday when I called no one picked up the call between 11 PM and 11:30 PM. If you want to call BIG TV customer care allocate more than an hour for it. I have experience of putting me on hold without telling me two times that too for more than 15 minutes. Both times I disconnected and called again. They never transfer the phone to a supervisor even if we request them so. Once one person refused take my complaint and asked me to call another day.
When I had the channel issue the first person asked for the channels and gave him the channel list he gave me a complaint no and put me on hold for 15-20 minutes, he didnt ask me my plan or regional pack or any thing. I called up again to register another complaint. Even if we complain they never calls back us to verify it is fixed or not. That is real customer care. I have sent mail to info@bigtv.co.in but I have not got any response.
We have Dish TV at my home town for around 3 years and we have never experience any issue all these years. There was not even a single day we had to call custmer care. It has been uninterrupted transmission. As far as Big TV is concerned when ever I switch on the TV, I pray that there are no issues. I am happy that I have a BSNL land line connection becuase calling customer care is free. If you have a mobile and trying to call customer care, best of luck for you. Your mobile bill is gonna give you a shock My friend has Tata sky and he is happy with that. My advice is either go for Dish TV or Tata sky
Update on Oct 9th.. Still my complaint is not resolved. Morning I called up that person said that the server is slow :) .So it will take time.. I dont know which company is supplying servers for Raliance. It is so slow that it takes more than 3 days to change one regional pack to a different one. That server company should be sued for cheating Reliance... :D . He asked to call at 2 PM , . WHen I called at 2 that person said it would be solved as fast as possible. he has not given a time frame. So that I will call again and again.. And one more thing his manager is in a meeting and he might in the meeting for another 2 or 3 hours. When I called in the morning he was not at his desk..
Update on 15th October: Finally my complaint got resolved. I am able to watch Asianet so I guess they have updated my regional pack. It took 8 days for them to change the regional pack. So if any one else is facing the same issue, be patient, Aapka number bhee ayega...

Navigation is slow. Some times you will have to enter the channel no twice.

19th October:
I wanted Neo Sports and HBO which are not available South 2190 pack. So I got recharge coupon. For Neo I have to recharge it for min 6 months. For HBO minimum and maximum is one month. Means I Opted for English Movie package which I got activated within minutes. But it is valid only for one month. After one month I have to call the customer care again to activate it for the next month. They dont have the option to activate any package for more than one month except Neo.
So If you want to watch any add on packages like English movie, Kids then be prepared to make a call to customer care every month(This is what Customer care told me).
