Its been more than 6 months now that I order my grocery from Big Basket.com(Bangalore) and I can proudly recommend shopping from here.
The Website - is easy to use, easy to browse through the products and make proper selections. Like any other website they too have categories for all the products.
Easy signing up and login options. Every time you login the website immediately provides you the option of selecting the products you order on a regular basis(which makes putting things into the cart easy as you don’t have to go around searching for them) - this option is called Smart Basket. The website has an option of creating yor own shopping list.
Variety of Products - The website has a wide range of products - Vegetables, Fruits, Meat, Staples, Bakery, Frozen Products, Dairy, Personal Care, Household items such as Cookware, Pet Care, Kitchenware, Car Care, Cleaning Accessories, etc is available.
Apart from this Imported and Gourmet Products like All types of Cheese, Imported Dairy, Pastas, Dry Fruits, Berries, Tinned & Jarred Foods, Sauces, Dressings etc. is also available.
Vegetables/Fruits - In the start I used to order everything except for the vegetables/fruits in a fear of what if they are not good and fresh, however I once tried it out and it was beyond my expectation. I had ordered some fruits and some vegetables - all of them were fresh and packed well for the delivery. The pricing of these fruits/veggies was done on the basis of the exact weight right before the dispatch.
Bakery Items - They have a bakery section where you can order freshly baked bread, cookies, muffins etc(Fresho Signature freshly baked). The products are freshly baked, packed well and delivered. I happened to order bakery items twice and both the times it was fantastic.
On Time - On Time Every time! Yes every single order is delivered at the right time. They have 4 Time Slots - which makes it very much convenient for all to take the delivery. They also have deliveries on Sundays. I place my order a day before and the delivery happens on the very next day by evening as that’s the convenient time for me.
Delivery Charges - Big Basket takes Rs.20 for delivery charges if the total bill amounts to less than Rs. 1000. Any purchase which is above Rs.1000 is delivered free of delivery charges.
Delivery Persons - Friendly, cooperative. Generally all the goods are brought in big baskets in a small van. The personnel brings the baskets into your house and empties them wherever you ask them to.(This is a good thing as it is easy to just pick up the stuff and put them away in their right places immediately.) The personnel cross checks the list to make sure that they haven’t missed anything and never hurries nor do they behave rudely. They deliver with a smile and leave with a smile.
Returns of Goods - I happened to have my ordered product returned only once as it was not what I had ordered. But the return was easy. The personnel took the product and deducted the amount in the total amount. This was done without any hassle.
Payment Options - They have the following payment options - Cash(or Sodexo coupons / Ticket Restaurant Vouchers) on delivery OR Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking. I always take the Cash on Delivery Option which has been working out fine for me.
All in All - I can be anywhere and simply order my grocery and be tension free as I get everything I need at this one great place and it is all delivered to me at the proper time. Not once did I have to worry about whether they would be on time or not, or would they bring the things as I need them or not after the first two deliveries. If anyone ever complains telling me how they are never able to find time for shopping or how they have to spend their free time in going into shops for their kitchen shopping I ask them to try BigBasket.com.
