Big Basket called and took my order number. They said appropriate action will be taken against the vendor or procurement team, not sure. I got half my money refunded and they profusely apologized for what happened. Everything wrapped up in 24 hours.
Just thought it would be unfair to not give a follow-up after they resolved my issue. Thanks for reading.
OLD REVIEW: I am a regular at big basket, Hyderabad. Order from them every Saturday. The last 2 times however, I got an evening slot. When I received my delivery and opened the chicken neck and liver packets that I buy for my dogs, they were STINKING so bad. I thought it probably was the blood, so I washed the chicken under running water, but the smell just did not go.
My guess is that they removed meat from fridge in the morning, let it rot and smell for hours, and then came and delivered it to me. I could not believe it. I had to then, physically go to a shop and buy my dogs food for the entire week again.
Big Basket should not be serving contaminated and spoilt food to paying customers. How dare they? Doesnt anyone check outgoing perishable foods? There is some trust factor associated with this business, I believe. I think I will have to stop buying from them and switch to another supermarket. BIG LET DOWN BIG BASKET.
