I ordered from Bigbasket last month - November 2011 when they launched in Hyderabad. Vegetables and fruits sucked. First time service as ok as guys were professional and few products seemed ok quality.
Next time I ordered products including several kilograms of Dates(khajoor). Imagine my horror when I opened the dates packed and found them to be worm infested and smelling horribly.
Same way, all eating items like biscuits which were ordered were several months old. How come they got hold of old stock when it was not even 1 month since they launched, is big mystery to me? I think they got these old stock at less price from places where nobody was buying them. So they are sending them to customers fooling them.
I also got confused about weight of products since they seem to be less than what was mentioned on the invoice. To test, I compared the weight of packed leafy vegetables, fruits, dals, etc. with grocery packets from nearby supermarket and kirana shop. Big basket packets were clearly underweight. So they were cheating customers by delivering less weight than what is mentioned in invoice and website.
I tried to call customer care number for Hyderabad within their timings several times. No body picked up call.
These fellows are big fraud guys. Somebody should file legal complaints against them for faking weights of products and selling old stock items. Shame on Bigbasket. Avoid karo isko!

After reading this review, Bigbasket Hyderabad team contacted me. The head of Bigbasket Hyderabad called me and asked me why I was not shopping with them for long time. I repeated what I had mentioned above, about very bad quality of dates, fruits, and all products. He said that he will refund the money paid by me.*
After a week, somebody else from Bigbasket called me and repeated what I had mentioned above. He also said that he will refund money paid by me.
It is more than three weeks since they called me and said they will send me refund money. I did not receive the money till now! Seems like more empty promises from Bigbasket.
