I am unwell today but since I logged on, I thought I had to write this about BigBasket.com.
BigBasket has renewed my hope in Indian Customer Service, which thanks to our money-minded Indian telecom companies had vanished.
It so happens that a papaya which I ordered online from BigBasket turned out to be rotten from inside. I understood the situation since they cant open every pineapple, watermelon and papaya and check it. But still I let them know about it, since my mother was really pissed. After haggling with street fruit-vendors in Bombay all her life, she had become a little finicky. She vowed never to order online, but the geek that I am, I still do.
Surprisingly just a day after the complaint, I get an SMS saying that I had a credit of xx.00 amount of cash from BigBasket. I was like ok! what the heck. Following that came another SMS that my order was confirmed. I thought WTF! I never ordered anything.
So I went over to my email and found that BigBasket had send me a papaya FOC and that was rounded off by the credit. It was due to arrive on Sunday, the email read. Suddenly that evening I get a call saying that the delivery will be made the same day by 9.15 pm. I was like WOW! Are these guys for real? Does this actually happen in India? And to the dot, BigBasket rang my door bell, with not just one but two papayas.
I mean if these guys take Customer Service (CS) so seriously, I too can spend some time to write a saluting review for them.Thanks a lot guys and please do not let the spirit die out.
(FYI: guys pls dont send me another papaya for writing this review) ;)
