I have been using BigBasket since 2 months now. I order my grocery every week. Thanks to BidBasket, I am able to save a lot of time on weekends. I used to go to Total for shopping which used to take a min of 3 hrs plus I used to buy a lot of stuff which was not required. Shopping at BigBasket hardly take 15-20 min and I normally buy what I need; So no extra expense.
What I like about them is :
1) The ease of shopping. They have pictures of all the products, it is as good as shopping at the store
2) Categorization - All related products are kept together, it is very easy to compare prices
3) Price - I have compared BigBasket with other near-by shops. The prices are better. Though I feel a Total or Reliance is still cheaper
4) Return Policy - I can return the products if I don’t like. No questions asked.
5) Packing - Everything is packed nicely. No muddy patches, no wet Palak etc. Everything looks nice and clear. They should keep it up
6) Minimum Order - There is no min order. I love this thing
What I do not like -
1) Price/Weight - Something which is strikingly unacceptable is that the weights are different than what is ordered. E.g. If I order 1 KG apple I get 850 gm but will be charged for 1 kg. Considering the price of products this means that every time I end up paying more. Some items are even more than what is ordered. E.g. If I order 2 Kg watermelon I get 1300 gm. But mostly we are on the loosing side. I would prefer that they charge for the quantity delivered. This is something really painful and BigBasket should look into it. I complained about it and was given a credit note for the difference. But ideally I would not like to do this exercise every week
2) Delivery Time - Normally the next available delivery slot is after 1 - 2 days. So this means you really need to plan for your shopping
3) Variety of products - The variety is really poor. They have very basic veg and fruits. Even other products like Caster Sugar, Wipes, Sanitary Napkins, Creams, Diet Coke (in bottle) etc are also limited. We do not even have an option to suggest what other products should be made available. It will be good to have such feature.
This is actually a very inconvenient things. The reason why I order online is to save time. If after this also I need to check other stores physically then it totally defeats the purpose
Overall I have always had good experience shopping at BigBasket and would recommend it.
