BigFlix

Dear Friends,

I have subscribed to BigFlix since Sep08. Till now the services were fairly good. Instead of thrashing Big Flix for the negatives I would like to put the advantages/disadvantages. Its upto you to take a call.

Firstly the positives:

1. The subscription price. It’s a deal. You can’t get cheaper than this and that too original DVD’s home delivered!

   
   




2. Home delivery is timely. Easy to put request and the guy is ready to serve you the next day.(Don’t expect the exact time).

   
   




3. Good collection of movies hollywood/bollywood/regional etc etc(for that money it’s more than worth).

   
   




4. Queing of movies is a great idea. You decide what you want to watch in advance.

   
   




5. Unlike other service providers, Bigflix cover a large area in Mumbai including suburbs.

   
   

The Negatives(worth taking note of)

1.Never expect a movie which you have kept in your queue in top five, as it seems only few number of copies available in some cases only 1 copy for whole Mumbai. For Instance, it took me whole 48 days for getting delivered "Forest Gump"; even it was priority one for all these days. And there are many such instances.

1. You cannot expect new movies available on Bigflix . It takes around a month or two before the new movies are available on Big flix.

   
   




2. Although available at Big flix(of course after the 1/2 month period), you cannot expect a new movie getting delivered if you are expecting a home delivery. I am not sure about its availability in the actual Bigflix store. Don’t expect at least for first three months after its launching on Bigflix. You will have to call the customer care and put few(at least three) written complaints to actually get these movies. Minimal chances of getting a new Bollywood movie and "NO" chance of getting a new Hollywood movie.

   
   




3. It takes some efforts to create your queue and lot of efforts to modify it especially if your queue is a long one.(If you are using Bigflix, just try updating order no: 43 t0 Order no: 5). The website is damn slow and the queing process is damn slow.DOnt ever try this on a slow connection.

   
   




4. The priority of movies you put in your queue is useless. I have till now enjoyed since I was able to watch quite a good amount of Hollywood movies on original DVD’s. Was disappointed because some of these were only received after patiently waiting for many days.

   
   

I shall continue for the first six month subscription, where I shall cover many Hollywood movies, which I have waited to watch for quite a long. But I "never never" wanna continue beyond six months coz then I would not have anything exciting left with BigFlix. I hope this would find useful for the new joiners.

Note: Below herewith I would like you to present one typical of complaint which I write at least once in a week. I hope you will find useful when you subscribe to Bigflix.

"Dear Sir, I am fed up of putting the same complaint every week. And it seems you are unmoved even to revert on the same forget about taking action against the complaint. Numerous times I have complained that please deliver the movies as per priority in the Queue. Atleast have a courtesy to revert with what would be the likely date we would receive the movies. It seems that with increasing new customers, the old customers are being taken for granted. We can only hope that you will take some action and update your queuing systems to take care of the priority at least those which are been queued 30+days prior.Regards"
