*Big Boss Season 2
*After a very successful first season, the Baap of all reality shows, Big Boss, is back with its second season. However this time around it is being telecast ed on Colors.
To begin with, the show seemed thanda even though there were some very controversial figures as housemates like Monica Bedi, Raja Chaudhri and Rahul Mahajan and politician like Sanjay Nirupam. The only highpoint seemed the svelte host Shilpa Shetty brimming with newfound confidence and a better than average funny bone.
The first week saw Sanjay Nirupam and Raja Chaudhuri getting nominated and some high voltage drama. There were some heated exchanges between Sambhavana Seth and Sanjay Nirupam on the topic of morality and the image of an item girl.
Then Monica Bedi sobbed away buckets in gratitude how the show came as a blessing to her and how she wasn’t able to even get a home on rent in Mumbai because of her haunting past. This prompted Sanjay Nirupam to don the hat of a real-estate agent and he promised to get Monica a home on rent in any place in Lokhandwala and Juhu, the seat of Bollywood. However this gesture didn’t translate into votes and he was the first housemate to be evicted.
The second week brought a oceanic change in the character of each housemate. The ‘cute boy’ Rahul Mahajan turned into the ‘scheming politician’ which he couldn’t be in real life. He was the architect of a group consisting of Monica Bedi, Payal Rohatgi and Rakhi Vijan. Rakhi Vijan tried her hands at being the cupid between Rahul and Monica. And Payal Rohatgi did everything possible to create an imaginary ‘image’ she feels she has including breaking into tears at the least or no provocation. While Rahul Mahajan was busy being the Kishan Kanhaiya to his group of gopis, Ashutosh Kaushik, the winner of MTV Roadies 5.0, christened Lathmar in the house because of his rustic charm, Zulfi Sayed, the Gladrags model hunt winner, Raja Chaudhri and Ehsan Quereshi, the laughter champion, schemed and plotted to nominate Rahul Mahajan and Rakhi Vijan. The pioneer of the sound byte ‘ara ra ra’, Ketki Dave, the ‘auntie’, captured the kitchen and the ‘commoner’ Elina was too happy to be ‘Lady Friday’ to all who looked her way.
The housemates were given the task of enacting Raas Lila and who else but Rahul Mahajan became Krishna and who else again but Payal Rohatgi became the Radha. While all this was going on, the reality singing champion Debojit Saha kept the spirits high in the house with his melodious voice. After much drama and buckets of tears, Rakhi Vijan was the second housemate to be voted out.
The third week was very eventful, with Raja being crowned the leader of the house through secret ballot. The groups tried to consolidate their position and that created friction between Sambhavana Seth and Rahul Mahajan which led to a planned emotional burst from the former on the later. Again Rahul Mahajan earned a nomination for eviction and this time he was up against his ‘good friend’ Monica Bedi. The atmosphere inside the house turned really sour towards the mid-week but returned to normal towards the week-end. Debojit Saha claimed his place under the sun with a rendition of the Big Boss song written by the housemates. The otherwise quiet Zulfi Syed slowly came into his elements and is looking quite a competitorand is heating the oven to the right temperature. As expected Monica was evicted this week.
