This is Bikaner, this is one of the nicest example how a fathers " remark" can change a sons world & the son can change the world.
The son was Rao Bika, who left his princely state of Jodhpur to prove himself. This place is also popular for many temples, hence its also known aschhoti kashi.
The most amazing is Karani Matas temple(rat temple), which is situated 30 km from main city . There are many within main city. Most of these temples have old conventional Rajputi architecture, stone work not very intricate yet simplicity and space distribution is nice to observe, Jain temple is an exception, this place you will find intricate stone carving.
The public park is very pleasant place to spend spare time. You, your friends can climb on a tank, that tank has been won by brave Indian Army from Pakistan. The public park has a victory tower/ war memorial tower in the center, nearby is a pond where in evenings boating is allowed.
If you can plan accordingly then every year there is an air show by brave Air force pilots at NAL( your tour operator can arrange ride to and from to this place. You can use autos / rickshaws for local movement.
A little concern, this city administration still allows diesel autos which is not good for environment. There are three museums in the city and Junagarh Fort, Gajner palace, Lalgarh Palace etc. are historical places you will love to visit.
The Gajner palace situated near a water body and woods, natures ultimate beauty. Now, most yummy part: through out the city there are many food joints, you will know Bikaneri delicacies are much more than Bhujiyaa and rasgollaa.
Station road has many small and big shops for sweets and other delicacies.
Shopping:You can buy kundan jewelry, doria and bandhni dress material, saree etc.
So religious, historical, nature or shopping lovers, this city has lot to offer to every one.
