Billdesk debited money but transaction failed

I tried making a purchase on pepperfry.com having order number 100291101 & amounting to INR 949/- on 28th of Sept., 2012. The amount got debited from my account but pepperfry system stated that the transaction has failed. I made a call on my bank to trace the transaction, they confirmed that the amount is debited from my account and that I should contact the merchant to trace it.


I called up pepperfry.com but they were reluctant to look into it and informed me that they didn’t receive a credit for that amount from Billdesk against my purchase. I have contacted Billdesk but they have not provided me with anything as of now. While checking web I discovered a lot of people having same issues with Billdesk with regards to their transactions on Internet. Government in India is always ready to tax people under one or other pretext but they fail to keep a check on businesses like Billdesk and several online merchants.


There should be a rating system on the lines of BBB where customers can register their complaints and have Government look into it.
