I would like to share my experience with M/s Bimal Maruti Service Station Mahadevapura, Bangalore. I have been a regular customer of Bimal for past~ 5 years, and have been witnessing a gradual decline in service levels over a period of time.
I’m writing this review to let you know NOT TO TRUST the quotations for Body Repairs from some of the service staff. I had the below experience with my Alto:
My Alto LXI rear hatch had suffered a minor dent which I wanted to get repaired at Bimal. I had got this inspected by Mr. Umashankar from the repair shop a few days back, and he had quoted me a repair cost of approx 4-5 K, which seemed reasonable to me. Since I was not in a position to deposit my vehicle for 4 days, I decided to drop by later for the repair job.
On Sunday, 20 Oct 2013, when I reached the service center, to my bad luck, Mr. Umashankar was on leave, and the vehicle was inspected by Mr. Manjunath. He spent no more than a minute inspecting the vehicle and immediately said the repairs would cost be~ 11 to 12 K, as there are additional repairs needed to the dikky lock region too. I was not really convinced. I told him that Mr. Umashankar has got it thoroughly inspected the other day, and he had quoted~ 4K, why was Manjunath’s quote so much more? To this, Manjunath seemed to be all the more arrogant, and mentioned that: "I’m the technician, and Mr Umashankar does not know anything technchandru021y. If you want it repaired it will take~ 11 to 12 K, nothing else can be done."
As I felt that Manjunath was not relenting due to ego, I decided to take the car to Pratham Motors Outer Ring Road. I was vindicated when their quote for the repair exactly matched what was quoted by Mr. Umashankar. Moreover, they were ready to deliver the vehicle after only 1 day. Its been almost a week after repairs, and I’m pretty happy with the service experience @ Pratham Motors.
It is only due to arrogant behavior of Mr Manjunath from the Body repair shop, that I have decided to stop servicing my Alto at Bimal after having been their customer for 5 years. Would like to further add that I was happy with the demeanor and the quote offered by Mr. Umashankar of Bimal repair shop.
However, I feel such quotes should not drastchandru021y vary from person to person in the service shop.
