"Binsar is Binsar"

Binsar is a remarkably pretty hill town in Uttaranchal, about 30 kilometres beyond Almora in the Kumaon region. It’s a great place to go camping and trekking, with the added attraction of being a bird watchers’ paradise.                            Binsar is the perfect place to commune with nature. The spectacular landscape surrounded by forests of Himalayan oak and rhododendron, the panoramic views of Himalayan ranges and the scenic trails are the ideal setting for riding, trekking, camping and birdwatching. Discover the beauty of nature amongst undiscovered hills, take back memories that would enrich your soul.

You can reach Binsar from Delhi(12 Hours), Kathgodam ( 4 Hours), Nainital (4 hours). Easiest way to reach is from Delhi to Kathgodam by train ( Kathgodam Express ) and from kathgodam to Binsar either hier a Taxi or Jeep. Road condition is OK except few bad patches in between.

Binsar I stayed at Club Mahindra’s Valley View Resort which is 11 km away from Binsar.Binsar is bird watcher’s paradise, Trecker’s dream & mountain viewer’s choice. Everything is possible from here. Almora Town is also nearby but it is not worth visiting because of its high commercialization now.

Mornings in Binsar are simply enchanting. March and November are the best months to visit the Kumaon region. However, if you’re a hapless concrete-stricken, city dweller, anytime is good enough.

For bird-watchers, Binsar is the place to be - owlets, scarlet minivets, white chick bulbuls, pompous magpies, whistling thrushes, you can spot a new winged wonder every day, but you have to be patient.

Few of the Important Places which are worth visiting from Binsar are

1. Binsar Bird Sanctury: The Binsar wild life sanctuary encompasses an area of about 50 sq. Kms in the middle Himalaya near Almora. The forest abounds with wildlife - commonly seen are leopards, deer and wild boar.

2. Dhaulchinna Trail

  1. Jageshwar : 75 kms from the Binsar is Jageshwar, the temple town. It is situated in a beautiful narrow valley surrounded by magnificent Deodar trees. Most of the temples here are dedicated to the various manifestations of Lord Shiva.

4.Patal Bhuvneshwar: Patal Bhuvaneshwar looks over steep green valleys to the Himalayan foothills, beyond which lies the glorious view of the snow-capped mountains. This underground cave complex is over 6000 years old.

5. Nainital : Pretty Hill Station everyone knows about it is 4 hours drive from here.

Himalayan peaks are easily seen from here. You can visulize each peaks. Early morning trek with a hot tea at Zero point is life’s memorable events. Becuase I stayed at Club mahindra’s vally view resort it was more comfortable. There are few resorts in near by areas and few good hotels also to stay. So staying here is comfortable.

Local food stuffs are OK & if you are not much choosy it will not give any trouble to you..Perched on top of a hill with a spectacular view of the snow capped peaks and the Almora valley, Binsar is the epitome of serenity and tranquility. Surrounded by abundant garlands of alpine flora, ferns, hanging moss and many other species of wild flowers, this is as close as you’d get to heaven. In my View Binsar is Binsar. No Comparision ........
