The Sweet Taste of Chemicals

If you go the web site of Bisleri https://bisleri.com/products.html and see, you will be very inspired and be urged to trust this brand. However, behold, read this review and make your judgement.

Having a few friends in the water business gave me an opp to understand how it works in and around Chennai. Please allow me to explain to you this in few lines.

Any tom dick or harry can start a water plant with a licence from the government(which is not too expensive, but not free as well), once you open your plant(most of the Chennai plants around Red Hills area) some amount of purification techniques are applied on the water that is procured and packaged. The agents from various areas pick up the filled up bottels in exchange for empty bottles and start distributing.

Now, our friends the Bisleri group supposedly have their setup around Poonamalee as per the info I got from my distributor.

I have been complaining to the guys who supply the Bisleri water to my house for the last 6 months about a horrible smell that comes in some of their cans, the smell is extremely pungent and belongs to a chemical that smells very similar to polythene.

On several complaints I have changed the process of procurement now where we taste and smell the water from the can before accepting it, in spite of that they manage to slide a can or two a month with this smell.

On further complaining of the quality and threatening to discontinue, they requested me for a letter of complain which I have provided to them.

The distributor has promised to send the letter to the GM but to my knowledge he will use it to wipe his Auto windshield.

The problem here is that if a reputed brand like Bisleri has so many issues, what is the gurantee of other brands like Tirtham or Kinely or what ever it is.

Looking at this I wonder what is the best option to get decent drinking water in India. Perhaps a RO system is the answer.
